I Heart Saturday....and then some more

....this is my friend Bria (totally ripped off her name to give to my girl)

We grew up together as she is the little sister to my best friend through jr high and beyond.

Now she is a loving mommy and has a much more grown up blog than me.

Her blog is called.....and then some more

Love what she says about HOPE ....and many other topics like motherhood, marriage and her walk with God.

Totally did not ask her permission to do this...so I will go do that right now...hee hee

I Heart Saturday AND.....outside movie night

It worked out great with a white sheet nailed to the wall - just can't tell with flash photo.

of course we had to have meat pies....."Heavenly!Not as hearty as bishop, perhaps, but then again, not as bland as curate, either!"

Great memory with some awesome teenagers - two of which are off to the mission field and will be missed very much.

a facebook status

a friend of mine posted quite the facebook status to announce the birth of her fourth baby (and first girl):

Eloise Marie, the bitter warrioress, completed her first misadventure this morning at 3:30, bringing her 8’4”, 19 inch frame into the world kicking and screaming in protest against the inherent injustice contained in one’s denial of liberty when being unceremoniously forced into the cold and bright post-partum world

got to love facebook friends who majored in English and have both a nack for prose and humor!

with an emphasis on reluctant

I am at 4 Reluctant Entertainers today!

When it comes to entertaining...for me the emphasis is on reluctant. Really, if you are a friend who comes to my blog chances are you have never been to my house for a meal. I really struggle with this.

Today on Sandy's blog I share the story of one of our weekly meal traditions.

"Hospitality is not about having the best or newest or most beautiful," says Reluctant Entertainer Sandy Coughlin. "It's about sharing your heart and home with others."

Love that.

However, what really got me attached to Sandy is..

Yes, it's a theater balcony and you will see why this has another meaning for me soon.

Oh, and to learn another fun thing about my co-worker Doreen....see this post

BFF's and Fiction Family

I am a Jon Foreman fan. I was so thrilled to hear he had teamed up with Nickel Creek to form Fiction Family and even more happy to find out they were playing live in San Diego.

They played here, a club called "anthology"

Way cool music venue. Cannot wait to go there again. Seriously an amazing club to go to with friends and family. We had some of the best seats. It is a hip dinner club. You eat over-priced yummy food or order over-priced fancy drinks, sit in white high-back leather chairs and enjoy music in an intimate setting.

This is poet Jon in a cute grey sweater and floppy hair.

This is Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek and Nicki R :)

He came down and sang on the tables.

Here he is on another table and a view of Jessica and Michele.

This is Sarah Watkins of Nickel Creek after the show. I am so happy I got to see her jam on her fiddle - so great.

Two of my all-time fav girls

Me and Nate

Jessica did take a very cute picture of me, Kelly and Michele, but of course I cannot find it. Somehow it got deleted along with a video I was trying to take of Fiction Family's version of Hey Jude.

So, instead I am posting a picture of what we ususally look like when we hang out. Yes, we are very spiritual and are dressed for any occassion.

Always the Bridesmaid

Loraine has been in 21 weddings! and yes, she has all the dresses. We all suspect that someone told part of her story to someone and they made the movie "27 Dresses"!

But this weekend...........

Loraine married her true love!

Loraine was one of my closest friends in highschool. She has lived in New York for many years now and works at HBO. Her now husband is a firefighter. It was such fun to be able to celebrate with them at their "California Reception". It was like another reunion with my highschool classmates. We were all so happy for our dear friend.

I did take some pictures...but they look like this -

WHATEVER!

I was trying to show a friend of mine pictures of the kids on my camera (I forgot to bring prints) and I hit some funky button and it obviously messed with my settings! If only I could bring Tracy everywhere with me....

But, the photographer from the wedding gave us a taste of some pictures coming. They are small proofs, but will remind me what a beautiful day this was for Lor!

Camping Fun

We set out on an adventure with the Vega family - no camp site reservations, just left our home with our car packed and prepared for either the beach or a lake. We tried the beach first, but could not get a site, so we were off to an unknown campground. It was not all that we had hoped, so after getting the site up and then back down again - uggh - we ended up at Dixon Lake and loved it. We had a wonderful view and were still close enough to head out to the beach for the day. So, the kids had the best of both - beach and fishing at the lake. We always love hanging out with our good friends. The kids all get along great and enjoy playing games, making forts, hiking and fishing. The adults love to gather and talk theology, literature, kids, vacations and thanksgiving to God over all that He has blessed us with!

Miss Danielle's Baby Shower

We have a beautiful neighbor friend, Miss Danielle, who is expecting a baby girl this August. Bria just loves Miss Danielle and she really loves that she is having a girl! Bria tells Danielle how she is praying for the baby and Danielle told Bria she is so thankful for her prayers and really wanted her to come to the baby shower. It was just lovely and Bria had a great time acting like a lady. She even won one of the games and got two free movie tickets!

Great cake from Simply Layers bakery in French Valley area.

Cute baby shower decor!

Bria was looking to see if her diaper was the "dirty" one!

American Girl Movie Date

Bria and I got together with good girlfriends and had a fun time watching the Amercian Girl movie featuring Kit Kittredge. After the movie we had lunch at The Counter, a new hamburger spot that is so creative and yummy!
